What is a real estate referral?
A real estate referral is the act of referring someone, usually a client looking to engage in a real estate transaction to another licensed real estate professional. This real estate agent (recipient of the referral) will help the client and then collect a real estate commission upon successfully performing the services requested by the client. At Realty Hub, the real estate referral fee is super low. We charge our agent $100 per referral/transaction and the agent keeps the rest!
What is a real estate Referral Agent?
A real estate referral agent is a person who possesses a real estate license and refers clients to other licensed real estate agents. When these agents get compensated for performing real estate services, the agent who made the referral can collect a portion of the commission earned by the agent who received the referral. At Realty Hub, we have many agents who don’t perform any real estate services but instead, make referrals and get paid for them. We have active agents in Georgia, Alabama and Florida who make referrals to other real estate agents all over the USA! These agents can save thousands of dollars a year by not having to subscribe to the MLS or pay any mandatory Realtor association dues.
Why are real estate referrals given?
There are a number of reasons why a client can be referred to another real estate agent. The most common reasons are location, expertise and licensure. For example, Realty Hub agent Al Vargas just helped a client sell his home in Tampa, Florida because of a job transfer. The client’s new job is in Raleigh, North Carolina. Al would like to help his client look for a new home in Raleigh but cannot because he lacks local knowledge about Raleigh, does not hold a real estate in North Carolina, and cannot travel there due to the current demands of clients in Tampa. Another reason that a client may be referred is that they may seek the services of a real estate agent who possesses a certain level of real estate expertise. Some examples include agents who specialize in self - storage real estate or retail real estate leasing. Another reason is risk - some agents prefer to engage as a Referral Agent only as the risk is minimal. They don’t need to be involved in the transaction so nothing will be required of them – especially their time or attention.
